Grace is a profound sense of gratitude.

I. Religious people and other kinds of sinners need grace.

A. The Jews were the most moral people in the ancient world.

B. Disobedient people have no protection from the world, the flesh, and the devil.

C. Paul includes himself!

II. Grace (the kindness of God for sinners like us) creates gratitude.

A. “Salvation is freely given by God to undeserving sinners.” ISBE 2:547

B. Grace and justice are rooted in the character of God.

III. Grace anticipates holiness.

A. The Law is our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.

B. Grace is not a license to sin.

C. Grace doesn’t try harder, it tries better.
