Jealous for His Glory

Acts 17:16-34
I. Paul was jealous for God’s glory.

He was greatly distressed to see that the city was full of idols (16b)

A. Idolatry gives God’s glory to something else.

B. Today, we have no less idols than Athens.

II. Paul attempts to establish a Biblical world-view.

Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you (23b)

A. A Christian world view is based on the Bible:

B. An inadequate view of God diminishes human dignity.

III. Paul calls for a decision.

But now he commands all people everywhere to repent (31)
A. Some “sneered”.

B. A few believed.
