Jesus Makes People Free

Luke 4:13-30

I. Jesus said He came to set people free.

A. In the synagogue in Nazareth, Jesus declared what kind of Messiah He would be.

B. A lost sheep is not free.

II. Some people don’t want to be free.

A. One kind of bondage is to live in fear.

B. Freedom does not depend on our circumstance in life.

III. Jesus won’t be bound. He walked through the crowd and no one could stop him.

A. Jesus walked through the angry mob to find us.

B. Jesus walked through the angry mob, not to escape, but to get to the cross.

24 and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 25 For you were continually straying like sheep, but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Guardian of your souls. (1 Peter 2:25)
Are you ready to follow the Shepherd?
