Solomon, a Slave to Passion

I Kings 11

Wise people can do foolish things.

Proverbs 5:15-18 says,

Sexual sins have at least three clear victims:

Sexual sins injure God.

It would have been easy for Solomon to rationalize his sin
Solomon’s lust opened the door to all kinds of abomination.

Sexual sins have personal injury consequences.

Solomon’s sin divided the Kingdom of Israel.

Sexual sins hold us in a powerful noose.

Matthew 5:27-30 says, 

1 John 1:5-9 says, 

Romans 12:2 says, 

Sexual sins injure people we love.

Rehoboam’s foolish response divided the Kingdom.
We live in a dysfunctional family.

This is another story of Old Testament “Amazing Grace”.
